Questions & answers

Clear answers before you make a decision.

Start with the questions families ask most. If anything about your home or situation is different, call Gary or Naomi and ask.

Pricing and payment

How much does a stairlift cost?

Standard straight indoor stairlifts start at $1,995 installed. Your quote depends on the equipment and installation requirements. Ask what is included and whether additional work or charges may apply.

Do I pay a deposit?

Standard installations require no advance deposit, with payment due on installation day. Ask whether your installation qualifies and confirm payment arrangements with your quote.

Is the remote consultation free?

Yes. Remote consultations and quotes are free, with no obligation to purchase. Some installations may require an on site review.

Equipment and warranty

Do you install new or refurbished stairlifts?

Tennessee Stairlifts specializes in professionally refurbished Acorn and Brooks stairlifts. This provides dependable equipment at a more affordable price than buying new.

Is there a warranty?

A 90 day parts and labor warranty is included. Ask about the coverage and terms for your installation.

Do you provide service after installation?

Maintenance and service options are available beyond the included warranty. Contact us about availability and pricing.

Will the stairlift work during a power outage?

The Acorn and Brooks stairlifts Tennessee Stairlifts installs use rechargeable batteries and can continue operating for a limited time during a power outage. Available trips vary with the unit, battery condition, rail length, and use.

Does the stairlift attach to the wall?

Straight Acorn and Brooks stairlift rails attach to the stair treads rather than the wall, so major structural changes are normally unnecessary. We confirm the installation details for each stairway.

Does a stairlift need an electrical outlet?

A nearby standard household outlet powers the battery charger. The stairlift itself operates from rechargeable batteries.

Will the stairlift fold out of the way?

Common Acorn and Brooks models have folding components that reduce the space used when parked. The exact seat, arm, and footrest features depend on the unit selected.

What is the weight capacity?

Capacity varies by model. We confirm the correct unit for the user before providing the final quote.

Consultation and installation

Will someone need to visit my home for an estimate?

Usually not. Most consultations can be completed remotely, which saves time and helps keep costs down. We show you exactly which photos and measurements to send.

How long does installation take?

Installation typically takes two to four hours, depending on the stairway and setup.

Who completes the installation?

Tennessee Stairlifts offers owner installation by Gary Woodward.

What if my stairs have a landing?

Send us photos of the complete stairway and landing. We will review whether separate straight lifts or another practical approach makes sense.

Can you install a stairlift outdoors?

Yes. Outdoor stairlift solutions are available. We review the location and stairway before confirming the equipment.
